Testing the Hypothesis Part 2
Determining the areas of who lies outside the boundaries was somewhat difficult. In interviewing people, school violence was a concern for everyone I spoke with. There were a couple of people who didn’t believe in the service or solution that I was recommending or weren’t as concerned because they didn’t have any involvement with a school. One felt that the solution was to take guns out of society not to focus on protecting the school and some were concerned about the cost or the inefficiency in working with government.
Who is in: Parents teachers students and other members of the community concerned with violence.
What the need is: The need is for a safer environment for students and teachers.
Why the need exists: There are people who want to hurt people and be recognized for it in the media.
Who is not: Some people who don’t have children in school.
What the need is not: The need is not a political battle.
Alternative explanations: The solution to stop the violent actors is to disarm the entire population.

Hello Scott,
ReplyDeleteGreat job narrowing down your consumer base. For your service it is important to know how far you can reach. Unfortunately, people that aren’t in school or aren’t parents won’t support your service. I feel that the solution one person recommended about disarming the entire population is not feasible as a business idea. Now that you have narrowed down your target market, it will be interesting to see how you market to them.
